Important Food and Money Email :-)

Hi Warriors,

For all who registered you were given volunteer selections.  I recently shared a sign-up document with the specific people who volunteered for either Admissions or Concessions.  The importance of these functions is it helps us pay for gym rental and referees – so that hopefully a home game is not an organizational-financial-loss.  The better overflow of money we have, the better registration pricing we provide, and we have more flexibility to try to get the best practice situations, etc.  Why am giving a “volunteer organization accounting 101” preempt?  Because as of the writing of this we only have 1 slot each of our 5 admissions and 5 concessions slots signed up for.  Here’s what I would ask of you…

Regardless if you initially signed up for Concessions or Admissions – consider LEADING one of these functions.  Leading will mean – coordinating sign ups, ensuring we have people, and passing money along to Tim Litz.  As you know, Tim and Tia stepped down from leading Concessions/Admissions this year but they are very willing to train newcomers.  This year, my vision for concessions is one of Minimilism and Efficiency – wanting you, our precious volunteers, to have the easiest time and lowest barrier to help.  Concessions will entail ONE trip to a store for water, Gatorade, few snacks, done.  And, ordering pizza to be delivered on-site (or Chik-Filet, etc.) to be sold for profit.  Easy!  I am not asking people to cook food, haul microwaves, clean crockpots, or anything which will strike fear in the hearts of volunteers.  EASY and USEFUL!  This afternoon, I will be going to Gordons (or Costco) and buying snacks, then ask my wife kindly, to order pizza to come in 3 different waves.  So, I will learn some ins and outs as well when I (hopefully) train our new leads.

I am personally so thankful for your time – and thankful for your participation in the Warriors homeschool Christian basketball club!  I know our entire Board & Coaching Staff is so grateful for all of your help – we just need a shade more in these areas.
