More Jan 22-23 FWGIT Details

Here are more details from our hosts on Jan 22-23.

Fans: Spiece has asked that everyone who enters the facility wear a mask. Coaches, players and refs can take them off when the game starts. From the Allen County Health Commissioner, “Attendance is limited to players for the game at hand, required personnel, and parents, guardians, siblings, spouses and minor children of participants or personnel.” All parents, coaches, and siblings can attend the games, which will be great . This doesn’t mean we are back to normal on attendance, but it does allow us to not have to count the number of fans each team has.  We do need to make some accommodations for this which follow.

Before Games: Being able to have more people watch the games will be great, but we will NOT be allowed to have teams in the facility before their games for warm-ups or to wait around and watch games. We will be using the GroupME app, and will let teams know when their court is open. Players/Fans/Coaches will need to stay outside until their court is open. Once the court is open, teams will enter Spiece and go straight to their court. We will not be allowed to have teams hanging out before their games inside Spiece. This is very important, and helps more attend.

After Games: We will be using all 8 courts during the tournament, so once a game is finished, we will ask all players and fans from that game to leave the building. There will be no exceptions. Even though we are able to have more fans at games, spectators and players will not be allowed to just walk over to the next game. They will need to leave the facility. If you are a family member that wants to watch the next game, you will need to exit and then come back in the facility.
