TPCC Complaint – Please read
Hello Warriors!
I need your help to recover from some complaints we received from Traders Point Christian Church. The complaint is regarding the common area just outside the gym.
Recently, the front desk staff at TPCC observed the following behavior by some of our young boys:
They were running through the back hallway, jumping in the leather chairs by the fireplace, running through the building, drinking coffee creamers by the coffee bar, running around upstairs, and putting blank envelopes in the donation box.
The staff said that these things were happening “while parents were present.” I am confident this was an oversight, but I want to emphasize that this is a gross misuse of the facility. The church has graciously allowed us to use their facility, so we must treat it with honor. As Warriors and as Christians we want to strive for excellence in all areas of life, and we “desire to have a good name far above riches.” So, please let’s strive for excellence in this matter.
Going forward, all kids must remain in the gym area, unless accompanied by their parents or a designated adult. The common areas are for calm, quiet use such as resting, reading, working, studying, and quietly chatting. The behaviors quoted above are clearly not acceptable by the TPCC staff, so are prohibited for all Warrior kids. (I’m pretty sure no parents are chugging coffee creamers straight, but I haven’t specifically asked Brett Cadwell) haha.
Here’s how I need your help:
These complaints have been regarding behavior from the last 2-3 weeks of Monday Open Gym. If you or your children have used the TPCC facility during that time, I am asking that you do three things:
- Correct – Address this with your kids. Tell them about the complaint and give them corrective instruction on proper conduct: actions above are prohibited and stay in the gym area.
- Monitor – From now on, please help the Warriors by monitoring the lobby if you are there. Instruct all kids to stay in the gym unless they are under the care of an adult and have the self control to sit quietly and properly use the common area.
- Apologize – Please stop by the front desk and apologize to the staff for this parenting oversight. And have all kids that used the common area apologize as well.
I firmly believe that conflicts like this are an opportunity to Glorify God. No one expects us or our kids to be perfect. We will make mistakes and fall short. Instead, the proof of our Christian calling is the way we humble ourselves, accept responsibility, and seek forgiveness when we recognize our guilt. That is what Christians do and it’s what Warriors do.
Thanks for your help! If you have questions, feel free to contact me.
