Sickness Guidelines
Hello Warrior Parents,
As we are full swing into the yearly sick cycle, we are beginning to encounter questions and situations worthy of more guidance. As a reminder, you are under no obligation to either test or relay those results for any pathogen. We do have an obligation to not intentionally join Warrior activities while sick – so with that preempt, here are 4 guidelines we would like you to consider. The coaches will use these 4 points to make decisions or talk through real life cases.
Sickness Guidelines:
- A sick individual should stay away from Warrior activities
- If you are sick, quarantine 10 days following the onset of symptoms; more importantly, do not return until 24 hours following no-symptoms
- If you elect to test and test positive for a pathogen, regardless of symptoms follow the 10-day/ 24-hour guidance from #2
- If you are within direct contact (~15 min within ~6 feet) with a sick person, quarantine 3-6 days prior to returning to Warrior activities
If a team(s) determines that an individual was sick during a Warrior exposure, the coach will notify the team along with a recommendation. We will respect privacy but at times may need to make note of who was sick to understand exposure – this will take place through coach/parent dialogue. No body should ever be shamed for falling sick!
Thank you,
Rudy Guerrero
